Başlığa bakıp, herkesin adanın kuzeyinde tüm olumsuz işlerden sorumlu tuttuğu Başbakan Ünal Üstel’in soyadı ile ilgi kurmayın.

Adamızın kuzeyindeki tüm usulsüzlüklerden, yolsuzluklardan, partizanlıklardan, adam kayırmalardan, rüşvet olaylarından, sahte diploma işlerinden, trafik kazalarından, pahalılıktan Ünal Üstel beyi sorumlu görüp suçlamak, ona saldırmak çok kolaydır.

Önemli olan, onlara hizmet etmesi için Ünal Üstel ve onu destekleyen siyasi partileri hükümet yapıp, tüm bu olumsuzluklara göz yuman ve bu kukla rejimi kuran Ankara’daki “üst – ele” karşı mücadele etmektir.

Kumar, fuhuş, kara para aklama, insan ve uyuşturucu kaçakçılığı gibi Kıbrıs Türk toplumunun onuruna yakışmayan işleri, ekonomik faaliyet adı altında bize yutturmaya çalışan Ankara’daki “üst – el” adamızın kuzeyinde yüz milyar dolarlara varan bir vurgun ekonomisi yaratmıştır.

Yaratılan bu yapı içinde, insanların seslerini yükseltmemesi için de kaynağı belirsiz bu paradan bir miktarını çalışanlara bol keseden dağıtarak, dikensiz güllerin bulunduğu sahte bir cennet tasarlamıştır.

Geniş toplum kesimleri kaynağını sormadan maaşlarını, teşviklerini, fonlarını aldıkları ve seslerini yükseltmedikleri sürece her şey yolunda gitmekte, bu konuda muhalefet edenler ise “marjinal, Rumcu, vatan haini ve Türkiye düşmanı” olarak suçlanmaktadır.

Çizilen çerçeve içinde ve yaratılan bu sahte düzende, gerçek bir devlet varmış gibi yaparak, hükümetçilik etmek, muhalefetçilik oyunu oynamak, sendikacılık yapmak çok kolaydır. Oysa gerçekler öyle değildir.

Kıbrıs’ın kuzeyinde enflasyonu ve pahalılığı yaratan temel neden sürekli değer kaybına uğrayarak eriyen, erirken de çalışanların alım gücünün sürekli azalmasına neden olan Türk Lirası gerçeğini seslendiren yoktur.

Sürekli olarak Ünal Üstel hükümetinin piyasayı denetlememesinin pahalılığı yarattığı veya ithalat yapan tüccarın halkı fahiş fiyatlarla soyduğu konuşulmaktadır.

Tüm bunlar yaşanırken, muhalefet kesimleri ve sendikalar Türk Lirası’dan vazgeçilip, adamızın güneyinde de kullanılan euroya geçilmesi gerektiğini seslendirmekten korkmaktadırlar.

Kıbrıs 2003 yılından beri bir bütün olarak Avrupa Birliği’nin tam üyesidir. Kuzey Kıbrıs’ta Avrupa Birliği müktesebatı askıya alınsa bile, bu gerçek değişmez ve euro kullanımı siyaseten adanın birleştirilmesi anlamında olduğu için Ankara’daki “üst – el” buna karşı çıkmaktadır.

Kuzeydeki alt yönetimin merkez bankasının başına, Ankara’dan müdür atanmasının temel nedeni de budur.
Adamızın kuzeyini kolonileştirmek amacı ile uluslararası hukuk ve Cenevre Sözleşmeleri hiçe sayılarak taşınan yüzbinlerce insanın bütçe üzerinde yarattığı yük konuşulmamaktadır.

Nüfus sayımı yapmayarak gerçek nüfus gizlense bile, bu insanların eğitim, sağlık ve sosyal yaşamları ile ilgili harcamalar bütçeyi iflas ettirmiştir. Daha çok nüfus daha çok hastane, doktor, hemşire, öğretmen, okul, yol, su, elektrik, alt yapı demektir.

Ne ilginçtir ki bu nüfusu politik nedenlerle kullanan Ankara’daki “üst- el”, onların ekonomik yükünü de Kıbrıs Türk toplumunun sırtına yüklemiştir.

Yapılan eylemlerde bu konuda tek bir söz bile söylemekten kaçınılmakta, sadece maaş artışı ve eriyen maaşlar gündeme taşınıp, gerçek sebepler dillendirilmemektedir.

Ankara’daki “üst- eli” ürkütmemek için söz söylemek şöyle dursun, ona övgüler düzüp, eleştiri yapıp doğruları söyleyenleri “beğenmeyen güneye gitsin” diyerek kovan sendikacılar olduğunu da hatırlatmak isterim.
İsrail – ABD güdümündeki Ankara’daki yönetim, yıllardan beri sürdürdüğü politikalarla Türkiye’de üretimi tamamen bitirmiş, yarattığı 680 milyar dolarlara varan dış borç nedeni ile Türkiye ekonomisi sürekli açık vermektedir.

Ülkeyi ayakta tutmak için bir yandan baskılar ve yasaklar artırılırken, bir yandan da medya kullanılarak insanlar uyutulmaya çalışılmakta, din üstünden siyaset yapılırken, sürekli para basılarak Türk Lirası’nın enflasyonu azdırılmaktadır.

Türkiye’deki “üst – el”, bütçedeki açığı kapatmak için emeği ile geçinenleri hedefine koyarak, emeklisine yirmi bin Türk Lirası layık görülürken, çalışanına ise 28 bin lira asgari ücret vererek, göz boyamaktadır.

Kendileri saraylarda ve lüks içinde yaşayıp, yandaşlarına ihale ve usulsüzlüklerle avantajlar sağlayan Ankara’daki “üst – elin” Kıbrıs’ın kuzeyinde yapılan her türlü rüşvet, usulsüzlük ve hırsızlıklara göz yumması çok doğaldır.

Unutmayın ki “bizde ne varsa sizde de olacak” sözünü Ankara’daki “üst – el” yöneticileri boşuna söylememişlerdir.

savaşı, Türkiye ve kuzey Kıbrıs’taki rejimin gerçek yüzünü gösterme konusunda çok önemli bir fırsat yaratmıştır.

Ekonomi diye bize sunulan rezilliklerin, yeni dünya düzeninde bu şekilde devam etmesi mümkün değildir.

Türkiye’deki “üst – elin” yönetiminde, Türk Lirası’na bağlı, kara para aklanan adamızın kuzeyinde sorunu yaratana yönelik söylem ve eylem içine girilmediği takdirde eylemlerden sonuç almak mümkün değildir.

Bu konuda gerçek duruş sergileyen KTOEÖS gibi örgütlere yapılan saldırıların temel nedeni, doğru hedefe yönelik yaptıkları mücadeledir.

Geçmişte, Kıbrıs’ın kuzeyindeki kendine yakın sendikalara göstermelik eylemler ve açıklamalar yaptıran, “bağırın da Türkiye bize para versin” diyen Ankara’daki “üst – el“in kuklası bazı yöneticiler olduğunu hatırlayanlardanım.

Türkiye’de kendilerine biat edilmesi için halkını açlığa mahkûm eden bir zihniyetten medet umarak “Türkiye versin, biz yiyelim, bu düzen böyle devam etsin” diyen, ceplerinde Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti pasaportu taşıyıp, Kıbrıs sorununun çözülerek adamızın birleştirilmesi için uğraşanları ve Ankara’daki “üst – el“i eleştirip, eylem yapanları “vatan haini, Rumcu, Türkiye düşmanı” diye suçlayıp yalnız bırakanlarla, aynı ülke toprakları üzerinde yaşamaktan utanç duyuyorum.

Upper Hand

Don’t associate the title with the surname of Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, whom everyone blames for all the negative affairs in the north of the island.

It is very easy to hold Mr. Ünal Üstel responsible for and accuse him of all the irregularities, corruption, partisanship, favoritism, bribery scandals, fake diploma schemes, traffic accidents, and high cost of living in the north of our island, and to attack him. What truly matters is to struggle against the “upper hand” in Ankara, which established this puppet regime by forming a government with Ünal Üstel and the political parties supporting him, turning a blind eye to all these negativities.

The “upper hand” in Ankara has created a plunder economy worth hundreds of billions of dollars in the north of our island by trying to make us accept, under the name of economic activity, practices unworthy of the dignity of the Turkish Cypriot community, such as gambling, prostitution, money laundering, human trafficking, and drug smuggling.

Within this structure, in order to prevent people from raising their voices, a portion of this money of unclear origin is generously distributed to employees, creating a fake paradise filled with “thornless roses.” As long as large segments of society receive their salaries, incentives, and funds without questioning their source and refrain from speaking out, everything appears to run smoothly.

Those who oppose this system are labeled as marginal, pro-Greek, traitors, or anti-Turkey.

Within this framework and this artificially created order, it is very easy to pretend there is a real state, to act as if governing, to play the role of opposition, and to engage in trade unionism. However, reality is not like this.

No one voices the fact that the fundamental cause of inflation and the high cost of living in northern Cyprus is the Turkish lira, which constantly loses value and erodes purchasing power.

Instead, it is repeatedly claimed that the high cost of living is caused by the Ünal Üstel government’s failure to regulate the market or by importers exploiting the public with exorbitant prices. Meanwhile, opposition groups and unions are afraid to advocate abandoning the Turkish lira and switching to the euro, which is also used in the south of the island.

Since 2003, Cyprus as a whole has been a full member of the European Union. Even if the EU acquis is suspended in Northern Cyprus, this fact does not change, and because adopting the euro would politically imply reunification of the island, the “upper hand” in Ankara opposes it. This is also the main reason why a director from Ankara is appointed to head the central bank of the subordinate administration in the north.

The burden placed on the budget by the hundreds of thousands of people transferred to the north of our island—disregarding international law and the Geneva Conventions for the purpose of colonization—is not discussed. Even if the real population is concealed by avoiding a census, the expenses related to these people’s education, healthcare, and social lives have bankrupted the budget.

A larger population means more hospitals, doctors, nurses, teachers, schools, roads, water, electricity, and infrastructure.

Ironically, the “upper hand” in Ankara, which uses this population for political purposes, has also placed its economic burden on the shoulders of the Turkish Cypriot community.

During protests, not a single word is spoken about this issue; instead, only salary increases and eroding wages are brought to the agenda, while the real causes remain unspoken. To avoid upsetting the “upper hand” in Ankara, some unionists not only refrain from speaking out but even praise it and dismiss critics by saying, “If you don’t like it, go to the south.”

The administration in Ankara, aligned with Israel and the United States, has, through policies pursued for years, completely destroyed production in Turkey, and due to a foreign debt reaching up to 680 billion dollars, the Turkish economy runs a constant deficit.

While increasing repression and bans to keep the country afloat, it also tries to pacify the public through media, engages in politics through religion, and fuels inflation by continuously printing money.

The “upper hand” in Turkey targets wage earners to close the budget deficit, granting retirees a mere twenty thousand Turkish lira and workers a minimum wage of twenty-eight thousand lira, creating an illusion. Living in palaces and luxury while providing advantages to their supporters through tenders and irregularities, it is only natural that the “upper hand” in Ankara turns a blind eye to all kinds of bribery, corruption, and theft in the north of Cyprus. Remember, the phrase “whatever we have, you will have too” was not said in vain by the rulers of the “upper hand” in Ankara.

The Iran war has created a significant opportunity to reveal the true face of the regimes in Turkey and northern Cyprus. The disgrace presented to us as an economy cannot continue in this form in the new world order.

Under the rule of the “upper hand” in Turkey, as long as no discourse or action is directed at those who create the problem in the north of our island—dependent on the Turkish lira and used for money laundering—it is impossible to achieve results through protests.

The attacks on organizations like KTOEÖS, which take a genuine stand on this issue, stem from their struggle directed at the correct target. I am among those who remember that in the past, certain puppet administrators of the “upper hand” in Ankara would have allied unions in northern Cyprus stage symbolic protests and statements, saying, “Shout so that Turkey will give us money.”

I feel ashamed to live on the same land with those who, hoping for salvation from a mentality that condemns its own people to hunger for the sake of obedience, say, “Let Turkey give, let us consume, let this system continue,” while carrying Republic of Cyprus passports in their pockets and isolating those who strive for a solution to the Cyprus problem and the reunification of the island, labeling them as “traitors,” “pro-Greek,” and “anti-Turkey” for criticizing the “upper hand” in Ankara.
